El-Erian Institute of Behavioural Economics and Policy
The El-Erian Institute of Behavioural Economics and Policy of Cambridge University aims to help transform approaches to economic research, advancing and exerting a significant influence on the study of the behavioural dimensions of public policy and the implementation thereof.
PlantPro
Accelerating an efficient green consumer transition” aims to fill a knowledge gap on factors that drive consumer behaviour change towards more sustainable plant-rich diets and upcycled foods and greater acceptance of sustainable food technologies. We keep close contact with PlantPro, which is funded by Danmarks Innovationsfond and is co-led by one of our colleagues, Associate Professor Meike Janssen.
UN Food Systems Summit 2021
The UN Food Systems Summit, held during the UN General Assembly in New York on September 2021, set the stage for global food systems transformation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. With Lucia Reisch (our principal investigator) being a member of the Scientific Board of “Action Track 2 – Shift to sustainable consumption patterns”, we convened with practitioners, policy makers and academics to lay the path for sustainable food consumption. On behalf of the Copenhagen Business School, the Beacon project joined two so-called “Actor Coalitions”: “No Food is Waste” and the “School Meals Coalition” (in which Denmark is very active on member state level). These Actor Coalitions will continue their policy and scientific work after the Summit for at least one more year; and as member, the BEACON project (on behalf of CBS) will keep contributing and is part of a valuable and strong international network.
Consumer and Behavioural Insights Group (CBIG)
The Consumer and Behavioural Insights Group (CBIG), founded and headed by BeaCon’s principal investigator Lucia Reisch, consists of senior and junior researchers in the CBS Sustainability Centre at the MSC Department at Copenhagen Business School. Coming from different disciplinary backgrounds and research fields, i.e. behavioural economics, environmental psychology, consumer behaviour and policy research, and political science, CBIG members share an interest in the demand side of markets (consumers, citizens), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and behavioural public policy. CBIG follows a team lab approach and embraces working outside disciplinary silos as well as collaborating with practitioners such as public administrators (federal agencies, ministries, and city councils), policymakers, businesses, consumer and environmental organizations, and other civil society groups.
