EXPERT ADVISORY BOARD


The Board Members represent the different focus areas of the project, including interventions and experiments, circular society, circular economy and zero waste. Amongst other tasks, they consult on ongoing strategy and, if applicable, on research and outreach activities

Walter R. Stahel

Chair of the Expert Advisory Board

Professor Dr h.c. mult. Walter R. Stahel is the chair of the Beacon Expert Advisory Board. He is an influential Swiss circular economist and activist, the founder of L’Institut de La Durée (The Product-Life Institute), Geneva, visiting professor at the University of Surrey, full member of the Club of Rome and senior research fellow at the Circular Economy Research Centre of the Ecole des Ponts Business School.

Melanie Jaeger-Erben

Expert Advisory Board Member

Melanie Jaeger-Erben is Full Professor for Sociology of Technology and the Environment at Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus, Germany. Her research and teaching is focused on sustainable consumption and production, social aspects of transformative change (including Circular Economy/ Society), social innovation and the multiple interactions of society, technology and the environment. She is a transdisciplinary researcher by heart and prefers participatory and emancipatory modes of research and teaching. Melanie is (among others) Co-Founder of the Institute for Social Innovation Consulting (Berlin), member of the Resource Commission at the German Environment Agency and Associate Editor of Resources, Conservation and Recycling, Journal of Cleaner and Responsible Consumption and Umweltpsychologie.

Gareth Hollands

Expert Advisory Board Member

Gareth is a behavioural scientist based at the University of Cambridge. He is primarily interested in developing and evaluating scalable interventions to change health-related behaviours, including food, alcohol, and tobacco consumption, physical activity, and medication adherence. He has a particular focus on interventions that alter aspects of the physical environment to change consumptive behaviours, as well as research interests in evidence synthesis, health risk communication, and the role of non-conscious processes in behaviour change. His background is in experimental and health psychology, holding degrees from the University of Oxford, University College London, and the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.

Sally Sadoff

Expert Advisory Board Member

Sally Sadoff is an Associate Professor of Economics and Strategic Management at the UC San Diego Rady School of Management. Her research focuses on the design and evaluation of policy interventions. Sadoff’s work incorporates insights from behavioral economics with the aim of improving educational outcomes, physical and mental health, and the environmental impact of consumption choices. She has designed and implemented large scale studies in partnership with government agencies, non-profits, companies and schools. Prior to her current position, Sadoff was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago and a visiting professor at the Ohio State University. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago; and her B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.

Camilla Solkær Buskov

Expert Advisory Board Member

Camilla works as a consultant at the department of Culture & Leisure, Office of Internationalization and Sustainability. She recently returned from maternity leave and will be working with sustainability issues focusing on changing citizen behaviour through municipal institutions. She will also be working with the implementation of the Municipality’s Food Strategy.
