HOW DO WE DO IT?

THE BEACON PROJECT STRETCHES OVER A TIME-SPAN OF FOUR YEARS:

2021

Starting in September 2021, Year 1 begins with the preparatory work for the overall project (such as talent recruitment) and covers basic research functions such as evidence synthesis, development of lab and field study designs, and identifying, contacting, and involving the stakeholders for the human-centered design workshops. To be able to measure long-term effects, baseline data will be collected.

2022

Year 2 is mainly devoted to the design and start of empirical work. Working in partnership with the City of Copenhagen, we will focus on interventions around one central event, which is “Le Grand Depart” of the Tour de France, taking place in Copenhagen in July 2022, and its two-day bicycle festival called “Festivélo”. This environment provides a promising setup to test sustainability-focused intervention

2023

Year 3 foresees more fieldwork, as well as behaviour-centered design workshops and outreach.

2024

Year 4 is largely devoted to publications in academic journals along with wider outreach and dissemination towards and with stakeholders. This is well timed with the 2025 food-strategy targets of our practice partner, the City of Copenhagen.
